  1. Bristol. Bolingbroke's Camp before the Castle.
  2.  Enter BOLINGBROKE, YORK, NORTHUMBERLAND, ROSS, PERCY, WILLOUGHBY,
  3.  with BUSHY and GREEN prisoners.
  4.  
  5. Bolingbroke    Bring forth these men.
  6.     Bushy and Green, I will not vex your souls,
  7.     Since presently your souls must part your bodies,
  8.     With too much urging your pernicious lives,
  9.     For 'twere no charity; yet, to wash your blood
  10.     From off my hands, here in the view of men
  11.     I will unfold some causes of your deaths.
  12.     You have misled a prince, a royal king,
  13.     A happy gentleman in blood and lineaments,
  14.     By you unhappied and disfigured clean;
  15.     You have in manner with your sinful hours
  16.     Made a divorce betwixt his queen and him,
  17.     Broke the possession of a royal bed,
  18.     And stained the beauty of a fair queen's cheeks
  19.     With tears drawn from her eyes by your foul wrongs.
  20.     Myself, a prince by fortune of my birth,
  21.     Near to the king in blood, and near in love
  22.     Till you did make him misinterpret me,
  23.     Have stooped my neck under your injuries,
  24.     And sighed my English breath in foreign clouds,
  25.     Eating the bitter bread of banishment,
  26.     Whilst you have fed upon my signories,
  27.     Disparked my parks and felled my forest woods,
  28.     From my own windows torn my household coat,
  29.     Razed out my imprese, leaving me no sign,
  30.     Save men's opinions and my living blood,
  31.     To show the world I am a gentleman.
  32.     This and much more, much more than twice all this,
  33.     Condemns you to the death. See them delivered over
  34.     To execution and the hand of death.

  36. Bushy    More welcome is the stroke of death to me
  37.     Than Bolingbroke to England. Lords, farewell.
  38.  
  39. Green    My comfort is that heaven will take our souls,
  40.     And plague injustice with the pains of hell.
  41.  
  42. Bolingbroke    My lord Northumberland, see them dispatched.
  43.                     [Exeunt NORTHUMBERLAND with BUSHY and GREEN.

  45.     Uncle, you say the queen is at your house;
  46.     For God's sake, fairly let her be entreated,
  47.     Tell her I send to her my kind commends.
  48.     Take special care my greetings be delivered.
  49.  
  50. Duke of York    A gentleman of mine I have dispatched
  51.     With letters of your love to her at large.
  52.  
  53. Bolingbroke    Thanks, gentle uncle. Come, lords, away,
  54.     To fight with Glendower and his complices.
  55.     A while to work, and after, holiday.
